Top 10 Wedding Planning Tips for Brides-to-Be

Planning a wedding can be difficult for even the most organized bride-to-be: one minute you’re engaged and on top of the world, and the next you’re stressing over the guest list, the venue, the dress, the flowers, the cake, the décor and the seating plan. It’s a logistical nightmare and, needless to say, it’s also fraught with social land mines. But these ten essential tips can help you navigate the choppy waters, and bring you closer to your dream wedding.

Tip 1: Your invites

Who to invite is always the first question and is the foundation of how to move forward on your wedding planning helping you decide on the location, menu or even the decor. The size of your wedding is not to be taken lightly.

Tip 2: Sweet Spots

Exotic destination or in your hometown where you can share your special day with everyone you want. Modern location, park or beach, go traditional or do something with a little flare. Properly think out how to make your guests and yourself comfortable for any weather or nature sensitive issue.

Tip 3: Love is in the air

“How do I pick a date that works for everyone and is still special to me?” I always suggest taking into consideration the weather and being in love with May, June, September and October! Always rethink holding your wedding on a major holiday as your guests may find it difficult to attend. Do not rush picking your date!

Tip 4: Decor / Theme

Use the flowers found in the month…. mind your budget.. have a color scheme and concept in mind and how you envision the perfect wedding. Remember that the concept is different from floral arrangements. Ask always for proper rendering of your ceremony and reception location keeping in mind the suggestions of your wedding planner.

Tip 5: Make a meal plan

Recently, couples are gravitating towards a more organic, sophisticated selection as part of their wedding menu. Premium, fresh food should always be your option. Since the wedding week is often packed with multiple events, guests prefer sit-down meals for some events and buffet-style for others. For instance, I would usually suggest a buffet-style welcome cocktail for when guests arrive, and then move the guests into a more sophisticated dining room for a sit-down three-course or four-course meal.

Tip 6: Create an experience

An experience not to be forgotten is the goal of a wedding. Use all 5 senses to create an experience that will trigger memories for years to come. Use jasmine or roses scented fragrances wherever the couple’s guests will gather, use a color scheme visible to everyone, use fabrics with textures, gentle sounds to unify the day, use foods to entice the taste buds. Complete the week with fun and relaxed get together activities! Last but not least, entertainment at its best!

Tip 8: Your dress

Do focus first on finding the best wedding dress silhouette for you. Don’t feel pressure deciding on a dress when you are not 100% convinced and try on as many dresses as necessary. When choosing a dress, think of a timeless gown instead of a moment’s trendy one; and girls, don’t forget to wear your gorgeous fitting bra!

“Your gown should be ageless,”

Tip 9: Step up your look!

The morning of the wedding is not the best time to start experimenting with hair, makeup, nail polish – In other words, you need to plan ahead, well ahead for the best results.
