Top 5 Tips On How To Pick The Perfect Flowers For Every Event

Choosing your event or wedding flowers may seem like a daunting task. With a plethora of choices, colors, styles and options it can be overwhelming. Depending on what type of event you’re planning, your audience, and your venue you will have different types of flowers to choose from.👆

Where do you even start? To help you as you plan your design, here are a few tips to start you down the right path!

Top 5 Tips On How To Pick The Perfect Flowers For Every Event

     1. Look for What’s In Season

If you don’t have your heart set on a specific flower, look for what is in season. This will be a huge help in making the most of your budget. If you do have your heart set on an out-of season option, ask about ways we can source local or organic flowers to help with sustainability!

     2. Think About Your Vibe

Take into consideration the theme and the tone of your event. While you may not have a “theme” per-say, most people do have an overall feel they want for their wedding or event. Some people like boho chic, others classic and clean, some modern and edgy. Whatever feel you’re going for, this is important to communicate for your floral design.

Sustainability Bonus Tip:

Another eco-friendly option is to get creative. Maybe you go for potted plants, topiaries or blooms for your centerpieces. This way, you or your guests can take them home and replant them after your event. They can even make for fabulous favors! Or, you can even work with a program to donate them after you’ve used them to a local nursing home! There are tons of amazing options for this!

       3. Go Local

We love encouraging couples to support local farmers and businesses when they can! Use a farmers market or reach out to a local farm. Not only will this help people in your community but it also means you’ll have fresher flowers. This is also a great option for people looking to DIY their floral design!

       4. Remember Your Audience

Some flowers have cultural symbolism or maybe your corporate event is into sustainability! Taking into account your specific guest list will help you honor them and create a unique feel from your floral design. Plus, it can create the special touch that leaves your guests in awe!

        5. Have a Back-Up Plan

You may have your heart set on peonies everywhere, only to find out they aren’t in season and would break the bank. Having a back-up plan and being flexible are so important. That may look like choosing a different flower, opting for silk flowers, or asking your florist for their ideas. A lot of times a true florist will be chock-full of incredible ideas you may have never considered before! Don’t be afraid to lean on them and use them as a valuable resource.

No matter what you end up choosing, go with what feels right to you. In the end, it’s all about creating a one-of-a-kind event you love! As long as you do that, you can’t go wrong!
