Quick Tips Before You Go
While you won’t need a visa to get into Morocco, you will need to make sure your passport is up to date and that you have enough pages to stamp at the back. Additionally, every marriage conducted in Morocco is under Islamic law. Non-Muslims that are non-residents can of course marry, but the ceremony isn’t always legally binding. You should obtain your civil marriage agreement first before embarking on your wedding destination.

How’s the Weather?
When marrying in Morocco, the best seasons to say “I do” are in spring and autumn. From June to August, the brutal and dry heat can be difficult to contend with. March through May as well as September through November offer delightful warm and pleasant temperatures that are ideal for your destination wedding. Another time to avoid planning your wedding in Marrakech is during Ramadan as it can pose difficulties in organizing daytime events.
A Rich Culture
Images of magic carpets might come to mind, but it’s important to remember that Morocco is Islamic and their cultural traditions need to be respected. Properly respectful attire is encouraged though for women, wearing sleeveless clothing and shorts is considered impolite.

You’ll find some of the wedding traditions practiced here to be lovely, like the intricate henna hand painting designs. This is done to ward off evil and boost fertility, an ideal way to intertwine your culture with that of the Moroccans.
